Better Together Neat and Tangled Heart

I used Neat and Tangled's Better Together set with Lawn Fawn paper in the background.  The girl is suppose to represent myself as a child (I was naturally blond back then) and my two brothers.  One of my brothers does have darker skin then the rest of us; much like Anne of Green Gables' brown boy (her son in later books).

Newton's Nook Aloha Newton

I used the Newton's Nook Aloha Newton for this card.  Newton's hobby is his ukulele- which I was forced to play in grade five.  I hated it.  Ironically, if I had been told it was a instrument of Hawaii I probably would have wanted to play (I love tropical places and anything that goes with them).  Mahalo means thanks in Hawaiian.
I love Newton Nook stamps so much that I introduced them to Scrapbooks By Design (in Canada). :)

Three Different Cards with Hero Arts Background Stamp

I used colours that I remember from Old Town, San Diego.  (Black contrasting with bright colours, white and maybe gold.)  The sentiment is from Lawn Fawn and the background is an old Hero Arts stamp.

To make this gold number I used two Hero Arts sets.  I embossed the background and then went in with three distress inks: spiced marmalade, abandoned coral and carved pumpkin.  Between every layer I put down water droplets and then soaked them up with a cloth.  This gives a detailed layering effect that is really cool.  Inside this card and the next one the sentiment reads: every little thing is going to be alright.  Great encouragement cards!

This last one is my favorite.  I was going for a shabby chic design when I made this.  I used spun sugar, abandoned coral and aged mahogany distress inks in the background and then followed the same water droplet technique I used for the orange card.

Lawn Fawn Frosties Birthday Card

I used Lawn Fawn's "Frosties" for the snowflakes and "Party Animals" for the sentiment.  I put VersaMark imbossing ink on the gems with gold embossing powder and heat set them.  I wanted them to match perfectly with the sentiment!  Although its not snowing here now, we still have quite a few feet of snow on the ground.

Neat and Tangled Pop-up Card Box

Used my newish set "Better Together" from Neat and Tangled.  Got the card box instructions here.  The grass is cut from my Cameo and the butterfly paper is from the dollar store.  Hope it will be a happy surprise for someone.  The butterflies have lots of natural bling to them.

Newton goes to the beach

Here is Newton again.  Gotta love this cat.  The background die is the SSS Full Card Sunshine.  The image and sentiment are from the Aloha Newton set.  I also used stickles to add a little texture to the coconuts.

This is a new stamp set for me.  I got it for black Friday but haven't really gotten a chance to use it till now.

The best is yet to come

Remebered this quote when I saw Zoey's work on the SSS Mon blog.  So appropriate to remember with whats going on in my life right now.  The background is distress ink with clear embossing powder poured over and heated.  When it was thoroughly dry I re-heated some sections for a brighter pink in different areas.  I accually made this background a few years ago but I never had anything to put on it.  The letter set is from studio G and the flower bkg stamp is an old Hero Arts stamp.

After I finished my card (and got it done on time) I realized that it was too flat so I added more layers to the flower, as seen below.

B-Day Card For Mom and Fratelli Bakery Review

My Mom has a b-day coming up so I made her this cheery number.  The background is distress ink, the orange paper is from the "Hello Sunshine" Lawn Fawn 6x6 paper pack; everything was coloured with promarkers and the images came from the "Party Animal" lawn fawn set.

The Fratelli Bakery in New West and Vancouver, BC Canada is definitely worth visiting.  They are a true Italian Bakery and worth every penny.  Find them here.  We got the Saint Honore cake in the 5 serving size.

Little Tangles Gold and Silver, plus 2 cards and 1 cat

Lots of shine on the poinsettia!   Antique poinsettia from Hero Arts, twine from Lawn Fawn, sequins from Micheals and the bkg stamp "Christmas Background" from Stampendous.

Only place I could photograph was on her cat tower.. needless to say I had some "help."

Gold and silver ombre effect.  The gold goes down and the silver comes up.  There are lots of stars with both colours!  :)  Used the sparkle and shine Neat and Tangled set.  Good fun!

Pro-marker coloring with Newton's Nook "Newton's Holiday Mischief."  The red and green strip are coloured with Pro-markers as well (for a perfect match).  The glitter is from the dollar store adhered with clear Elmer's Craft Bond glue.
